Akbash Dogs

The Akbash breed it is characterized by being quite strong and large, with a very distinctive bearing of white hair that resembles a large sponge with white feathers. This breed has two varieties that are worth highlighting: one with semi-long hair that forms a smooth and flat coat and another variety with long hair, which live mainly in cold and winter places and which form a kind of heavy coat, as with a species necklace around his neck.

One of the main characteristics of these animals, is that they have strong skulls, with V-shaped ears and a long and soft tail. It is advisable to have these animals, if we live in cold places, although if you have the semi-long hair variety, you can have them perfectly in a little warmer climates.

The Akbash race is one of the oldest races that exist, and although their history remains a mystery, it seems that the first dogs were raised in packs, which allowed them to hunt much better and protect themselves with their companions from predators. This animal is an excellent guard dog that guarantees the obedience of the pack and is dedicated to protecting its fellow men from the possible dangers they may suffer. If, on the other hand, we have it at home, this animal is an excellent companion for our children, since they will immediately become part of its herd, and it will take care of and protect them.

It is a fairly loyal, loving, docile and independent breed that takes the title of guardians seriously. However, they tend to have aggressive behaviors towards strange dogs. It is important that we have a lot be careful with its fur, since it needs constant brushing to keep it clean. Although you do not need periodic baths, it is vital that when you are dirty, you can bathe using a very mild and special shampoo for your skin so that it does not damage the layer that protects it from the weather.
