Chinook, the rarest breed in the world

Chinook the rarest breed

El Chinook It was chosen by the Guinness Book of Records as the rarest breed in the world. But the strange thing is not its appearance, since it is a dog without anything that makes it peculiar. What makes it the rarest is that it is the hardest to find, as it almost became extinct.

This Chinook dog is the result of a cross between other dogs. The mother of the first Chinook was a Husky, and his father a mongrel, but it resulted in a sledge dog which became famous, hence the name of the breed, since it was what the dog was called.

The history of the Chinook is peculiar in that it is a very recent breed, and they reached a point where only eleven descendants of the first remained. At that time a group decided to rescue the breed, since they are very suitable for sled racing and for work, although today they are mainly used as domestic dogs.

The character of this dog is energeticas it is a working and sled dog. Suitable for racing, they have a strong and muscular body, weighing in some cases up to 40 kilos. He is usually good with children, showing a lot of patience with them, but distrusts strangers, demonstrating his Siberian Husky traits.

In terms of appearance, he is strong and tall, with large ears and dark eyes. His fur is fawn in different shades, with a black mask on the face. The hair is quite bushy as it is made for cold climates so you can sleep outside.

Without a doubt it is a dog that from being a cross became a breed. It is hard to find, since only 100 are usually born in a year, but if you get one, you should know that it is very good to live in a home.
