It is not common for them to be dominant with other dogs, although they can be with their own owners. However, it is difficult for them to present an aggressive character, as the English Setter is normally a very affectionate dog. That is why it is not a recommended pet as a home protector.

Regarding its appearance, it stands out its long and silky fur, which requires frequent brushing as well as proper hygiene. In general, this breed is in good health, although it tends to accumulate dirt in its ears and the appearance of mites in this area.
