How to choose my dog's name

Young and cheerful dog

So you just adopted a furry guy and have no idea what to call him? Don't worry: that doesn't happen to everyone 🙂. It may seem easy to name it, but when you think about it ... you realize that this is not the case.

There are many, many words that could be used to call you, but ... How to choose the name of my dog?

Well look, the best thing you can do is no hurry. Humans name everything out of necessity, but the dog is an animal that uses its body language above all to communicate and not so much oral. So it's really not urgent to name it. In addition, the best way to get him right is to let a few days go by during which what we will do is observe him, get to know him and start to build a strong friendship. In the meantime, we may come up with some ideas.

Still, it is important that we choose short words, preferably of a syllable that has the vowels "a" and "o" incorporated, since they are the ones that the can perceives in a faster and easier way. Also, it has to be easy for us to pronounce, because if we put one that is difficult, it will cost much more to learn.

It is also necessary to keep in mind that it is a name that he will always carry, even when he reaches adulthood, so names like "cute", "little" or similar may not be the most appropriate. But that does not mean that they cannot be put on 😉.

On the other hand, if we have adopted a dog that already had a name to which it responded, the most suitable is not change it since it could be very confusing.

Do you already know what name to put it? If not yet, here are some ideas:

  • Female: Kira, Lola, Luna, Sasha, Bella, Chloe.
  • Macho: Bluss, Blacky, Bimbo, Goofy (Gufy), Pluto, Doky.
