Among the most common types of allergy that we can suffer, we find the allergy to companion animals; in particular, the most frequent are those associated with cats and dogs. Fortunately, there are some so-called hypoallergenic dog breeds, which produce fewer allergens, so that people who frequently experience allergic reactions can tolerate contact with them much better. As examples we can name the following:
1. Samoyed. Despite having a long and abundant mane, this dog hardly produces dandruff, one of the main causes of allergic reactions. In addition, it does not shed excessively, although this changes during the shedding season.
2. Schnauzers. It gives off very little amount of by the, as it is a breed with hard fur. It does not usually cause allergies and hardly generates dandruff. In addition, it is an active, affectionate and playful dog, ideal for the whole family. On the other hand, its high intelligence facilitates its training process.
3.Yorkshire Terrier. Their fur shares the same pH as human hair, so it is rare for them to elicit allergic reactions in those around them. Likewise, it hardly loses hair, although it requires daily brushing to keep its hair clean and healthy.
4.Shih Tzu. Like the previous one, it does not shed hair, and it also needs frequent care for its long coat. Affectionate, active and intelligent, this dog of Asian origin is perfect for the whole family; he loves the company of his family and walks.
5. Italian and English Greyhound. They both have very short hair, which hardly falls off and does not need great care. Peaceful in nature, high intelligence and extraordinary physical abilities, these breeds easily adapt to living together at home. Of course, they need long daily walks and a good dose of exercise.
However, it is not proven that all hypoallergenic breeds are suitable for everyone, so before welcoming a dog into our home, it is best to let's consult with the doctor in case we or someone with whom we live has this type of problem.
