History of the Briard
The history of this breed began in France in 1888, when Pierre Mégnin, a military veterinarian by profession, stated that the Shepherd of Brie or Briad is the result of the cross between the Barbet and the Pastor de Beauce. But it took eight years for a standard to be written differentiating these two races.

Physical characteristics
The Briard is a large dog, weighing 30 to 45kg. The height at the withers is 62 to 68cm in males and 56 to 64cm in females.. It has a robust and muscular body, protected by a layer of semi-long hair that can be any color except white, brown, mahogany and faded tones.
Its head is large but well proportioned, with an elongated snout, and erect ears covered with long hairs. The tail is very hairy, set low.
Behavior and personality
