One of the things we have to do when we live with a furry dog is to bathe him once a month to remove all the dirt and thus achieve shiny and healthy hair. But to get used to it as soon as possible it is very important that from the beginning it is a pleasant experience for himOtherwise, every time we have to bathe it, it will feel very uncomfortable.
To make it an entertaining moment, or at least not very unpleasant, we are going to tell you how to bathe my dog for the first time.
Dogs, in general, do not usually like the shower at all, so it will be necessary to arm yourself with patience and go little by little. How? Very simple: as soon as our puppy has all his vaccinations, we will fill the bathtub with some warm water and we will call you with a very cheerful tone of voice, so you can see that nothing happens. In the event that you do not approach us, we will show you a treat which we will give you as soon as you have come.
We play with it for a little bit (just a minute or two, so the water doesn't have time to cool down), and we put it gently into the bathtub. Later, we have to do the following:
- With the hand we moisten the hair so that it continues calm, and then we clean it with a shampoo for dogs.
- Now, we pass the shower handle behind the animal and remove the foam. Throughout the bath we have to talk to him from time to time, with a cheerful tone of voice, and we can even give him a toy with which he can feel better while we are bathing him.
- When it's ready, we take it out and dry it well, first with a towel and then with a hairdryer.
- To finish, we brush it and give it lots of caresses as a reward.
Thus, the next time you have to bathe it, it will surely enjoy more.
