How to calm a frightened dog?

Most dogs can being scared by very loud noises, such as those caused by a storm with lots of thunder and lightning, but by the loud noises produced by a party with fireworks. However, it is important to know that although these are the noises that most commonly scare our dogs, they are not the only ones, since there may be different other noises that scare our animal and make it run under the bed.

Many animals can also feel fear of thunder and fireworks, being afraid of the noise of the vacuum cleaner, the doorbell, and even a tone of voice, which causes the animal to panic, begin to shake or lose control completely.

When this happens, the animal can go to hide, or begin to develop other types of behaviors such as urinating and defecating anywhere in the house, starting to bark like crazy, or chewing the first thing in its path. To help our little animal overcome these fears, it is important that we follow the following steps.

First of all we must identify what is really scares our little animal, and anticipate this to prevent the animal from losing its cool. It is very important that you also stay calm, since if thunder or storms scare you, the dog will most likely feel that same fear, so I recommend that you try to remain calm.

Although it seems incongruous, do not hug your dog to calm him down if he's scared, since what you will do is reinforce that behavior, try to act normally, and if he behaves well, reward him with a caress or a treat so that he begins to understand how he should act.

My dog is 5 years old, her fears are increasing, before she was only afraid of skateboards. Now it is the thunder, lightning, fireworks, noise of people at a party, or celebrations and shouts of a football game. She gets more and more restless, panting, shivering, and banging against doors and windows to protect herself. I don't know what to do anymore, I take her out for a walk, she has a large patio, a very comfortable house for her, water, food and I give her a lot of affection. But I can't leave her alone because I don't know what I'm going to find when I get there. It hits the glass and does not obey any order. He loses his sanity and hurts himself. All the advice given here is very good, but there is a but. My dog does not play, no matter how much I encourage her, there is no case. That leads to the fact that he cannot get her out of her trance state. She is rescued and always had an introverted personality. I need help!!! Please :'(
