How to manage your dog

Husky sitting

In the past, and still today, it was thought that dogs need a dominant leader who would tell them what to do when that person wanted them to do it. Of course, they need someone to tell them how to behave, but the relationship with the human, from my point of view, it should always be from colleagues or friends, and not of "master and submissive pet."

You have to treat them for what they are: magnificent dogs that can teach you a lot about yourself, without humanizing them, but also not treating them as if they don't have feelings ... because they do. But of course, they don't understand our language, so we have to help him understand what we expect from him. Let's know how to handle your dog.

Patience, constancy and consistency

These are the keys for the dog to live happily together with us, and to behave in a polite way. The mistreatment, both the beatings and the screaming, will only make the animal feel afraid, that it will come to do what is asked of it, but because it will know that if it does not do it, it will be mistreated; this is not life. When a dog is brought home, it is essential to have a lot of patience with him and respect him. We cannot pretend to have a furry man with a good quality of life if we are the ones who deprive him of it.

It is also very important that let's be consistent. If dad lets him get on the bed but mom doesn't, the dog will most likely get confused ... and end up getting on the bed because it is much more comfortable than the sofa and, of course, much more than his own bed 🙂 . Thus, from day one, it is necessary to make clear what the limits are to avoid confusion.

Work out

The dog need to exercise every day, to stay in good physical and especially mental shape. Every day you have to take it out for a walk, as many times as we can. If we can only do one, it is better to go for a run (or even go cycling) than for a walk, but if it is a walk, it should be as long as possible.

If we are lucky enough to have a dog park in town, It is highly advisable to take him to interact with others of his kind and play with them.

With these tips, we hope your friend will be very, very happy 🙂.
