Many times we are not aware of how much they can bother some habits to our pet; in fact, we even come to believe that these gestures are pleasant to them, when in fact they detest them. However, in most cases they are difficult to identify, so we make the same mistakes all the time. To avoid them we just have to know what they are:
1. Hugs. They are one of the most common expressions of affection among humans, but dogs find them stressful and unpleasant; for them it is more of an act of dominance. Many dogs have developed tolerance towards this gesture, but despite this we will notice that they become tense, turn away from us or look away. These are signs that they are upset.
2. Slaps on the head. They are especially annoying, especially if they come from the hands of a stranger. These "taps" are uncomfortable for them, so we will notice that when we practice this custom, the team lowers its head, closes its eyes and even steps backwards. It is an invasion of their space, so although these palms tolerate, the reality is that they are willing to finish when before.
3. Loud noises. Their hearing capacity is remarkably developed, so these animals are much more sensitive to noise than humans. This is why loud music, television, or shouting can easily destabilize them. High-pitched sounds are unbearable for your fine ears.
4. The deceptions. Many owners find it funny to "trick" their dogs into pretending they have thrown the ball when in fact they are still holding it, or to put food in front of their mouth and remove it at the last minute. What for us can be fun for them is a moment of anxiety for nothing beneficial.
5. Catch them suddenly. This is very common among small breed owners. For dogs it is very annoying that we quickly lift them off the ground and take them where we want; they can get very nervous as they don't understand what is going on.
