Among them stands out the story of Mark Imhoff, who decided to make a radical change in his life to dedicate it to the neediest dogs.
Mark held a prestigious executive position in a large New York company, which despite being the envy of many, did not fill him emotionally. Encouraged by his girlfriend, he decided to look for other alternatives associated with the animal world, where he really felt comfortable. “She didn't want to see me look for another boring and soulless job, and she saw the joy it gave me interact with animals", Explain.
Following this path, Mark decided to train as a pet stylist, later forming his own specialized company, under the name of "The Dog Guy". This company also offers an innovative Concierge services, dedicated to helping owners with little time to take care of their dogs. It includes tasks such as taking them to the vet, giving them medication, walking them, etc.
Later, she would find that offering her services to abandoned dogs for free would help them find a home. In this way, he regularly visits the refuges of the city to bathe, cut their hair and comb the animals, in order to facilitate its adoption. "I have seen such transformations in many animals that are inspiring and I know that they will end up giving that love to their owners in their future homes," says the former business consultant.
Currently, in addition to dedicating himself professionally to dog grooming, he is a volunteer for the New York animal care association "Animal Care Centers of New York City", through which he carries out the free haircuts in different shelters. It focuses especially on older dogs, as these have less chance of being adopted.
