Those of us who live with dogs must teach them a series of basic rules of education to avoid problems and troubles. Some of them are very easy, such as sitting, because being a natural behavior for them, it is often enough to "capture" the moment by giving them a dog treat. The sooner you start the better, since a puppy's brain is like a sponge that absorbs everything quickly, but if your friend is an adult, you can also teach him to lie down. It is only a matter of practicing 10 or 15 minutes every day - in sessions of five minutes - and being patient.
With that said, we will call our friend and ask him to sit down. If you don't know how to do it, you just have to have a toy in one hand and a treat in the other. Once you know how to sit up, you will move on to the next step: teaching him to lie down. To do this, tell him to sit down and, showing him the treat but without giving it to him, lower your hand to the ground. Instantly the dog will lie down to try to catch it.
