The best books with dogs as protagonists (II)

Dog with books.

A few months ago we summarized a total of five books starring dogs, which spanned different styles, genres, and eras. On this occasion, we continue with the long list of literary works that various authors have given us throughout history. Again, we highlight five of them thanks to their quality and value.

1. through my little eyesby Emilio Ortiz (2016). It is a story of friendship and improvement told through the eyes of Cross, a guide dog. He tells us about his day to day with Mario, a blind young man with whom he lives. The story is based on the life of the author, who has his own guide dog, Spock.

2. White Comilloby Jack London (1906). It is probably the most famous work of this American writer, thanks in large part to its popular film adaptation. It tells the story of a wild dog that establishes a relationship with humans, all marked by a strong environmental message.

3. Marley and Meby John Grogan (2006). Also very popular thanks to its adaptation for the seventh art. Its protagonist is Marley, a mischievous Labrador puppy who revolutionizes the home of the Grogans, a newly married couple. He quickly conquers the hearts of both, together with whom he shares the best moments of his life.

4. My bitch tulipby Joseph R. Ackerley (2010). The British author tells us how he ended up living with Tulip, a female German shepherd, despite the fact that he had never considered himself a great dog lover. To her surprise, he establishes a beautiful 16-year friendship relationship with her, which he tells us with a strong sense of humor and great affection in this book.

5. I gave you up for deadby Pete Nelson (2010). Paul Gustavson's life is a disaster: his career does not advance, he is divorced, he neglects his health ... His greatest consolation is his dog Stella, who listens to him patiently and gives him her fair and sincere opinion. It becomes the voice of your conscience and your guide in life.
