The protagonism of the dogs in the seventh art, being many films dedicated to these cute animals. We find them of all genres and styles, from those focused on children to those based on real stories. Among all of them, we have selected a total of five considered the best by the critics.
1. Always at your side Hachiko (2009). Starring Richard Gere, it is the remake of the Japanese film Hachikō Monogatari (1987), and is based on a true story. The plot revolves around the relationship between a university professor, Parker Wilson, and an Akita Inu dog named Hachiko, whom he adopts after finding him abandoned at a station. Such is the fidelity that the dog feels towards the teacher who comes every day to wait for him at the station. This true story is known internationally, to the point where a statue in honor of Hachiko was made at that station.
2. A couple of three (2008). Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson play a newlywed couple who adopt a Labrador puppy, whom they call Marley. With the passage of time, the dog begins to grow and revolutionize their quiet lives, turning their house into a real catastrophe. However, he completely conquers the heart of the marriage.
3. Back home an incredible journey (1993). This Disney production stars a retriever, a Bulldog puppy and a Himalayan cat, all three being the pets of an adorable family. Due to a confusion during a move, they are separated from their family, and they undertake a long and difficult journey to return home. To achieve this, the three animals have to join forces and put aside their differences.
4. White tusk (1991). Also produced by Disney, it is the film adaptation of the novel written by Jack London. The story takes place at the end of the XNUMXth century, in the middle of the gold rush. Its protagonist is Jack Conroy, a young man who travels to Alaska to claim his late father's inheritance. During the process, he will meet White Fang, a cross between a wolf and a dog, with whom he becomes close friends.
5. Beethoven, one more in the family (1992). This well-known family comedy stars Beethoven, a Saint Bernard who manages to escape from the hands of some kidnappers who rob the pet store where he was. He will take refuge in the home of the Grodin, where he quickly conquers the hearts of all, with the exception of George, the father of the family. In time he will become your best friend.
