Language is something very important in any type of group of individuals that wants to relate in any way or way, since it is the essence of communication. Language is a part of the individual and in dogs that are pack animals even more so. In a previous post, How is the communication between man and dog? We already anticipated something on this topic.

Dogs inside the herd they have to relate in a way that allows all their members to live in peace in order to be a strong herd. That is why dogs are so sensitive to gestural and sensory communication, being able to detect changes in pupils or body temperature from the rest of the pack members. Or yours. Today in this article, The language of dogs we teach you a little more about how our animals communicate.

According to Turid rugaas, Norwegian dog educator, specialist in canine behavior, president of the Association of Canine Educators Europe (Pet Dog Trainers Europe):

For species that live in packs, it is important to be able to communicate with their peers. Whether it is to cooperate in the hunt, bring food for their puppies, or perhaps most significantly: to live in peace with others. Conflicts are dangerous, cause physical harm and weaken the group, something no pack can risk; undoubtedly a possible cause of extinction.

Dogs live in a world of sensory perceptions, the vast majority visual, olfactory and auditory. They easily perceive minute details: a tiny signal, any small change in our behavior, the expression in our eyes ... Herd animals are so perceptive to signals that a horse can be trained to respond to the contractions in our pupils and a dog to attend to a whispering voice.

Dogs don't communicate like we humans do. We deposit 60% of our communication in body gestures, and we have learned to ignore part of the information we receive through this channel. However, the dog communication is 99% gesturing and they analyze it with great care and through a very powerful sensory channel, with senses far superior to humans.

In future posts we will continue to delve into the subject. All the best.
