As we saw earlier, the disobedience or lack of obedience in animals it is very common, especially during early age.
Dogs are quite keen on presenting inappropriate behaviors when they are small and although each animal deserves free will, we also need certain limits and guidelines in their education so that when they reach adulthood they are not disobedient dogs. It is important to always keep in mind that it is easier to train a young dog than to change the established behavior in an adult dog. For this reason the first advice, and perhaps the most important of all, is to start educate our little animal since it is a puppy.
However, and as I always say, when it comes to educating, we must above all be careful with the way we educate it. We must be patient and calm so as not to fall into aggressive education, which can turn our animal into a fearful, aggressive and upset dog.
Today we bring you some tips to keep in mind if you have a disobedient pet at home.
- Before you start trying to educate and train your pet, it is advisable to consult with a specialist. You can turn to professional trainers who will know exactly the best way to educate your pet without causing harm or trauma or teaching bad habits.
- As mentioned above, your animal should not be hit or yelled at. This, instead of helping to educate him, will set a pattern of bad behavior and could make him aggressive or fearful.
- Visit your veterinarian for a physical exam on your pet. Many times our animal is disobedient not because it suffers from a behavioral disorder, but because it may be suffering from physical problems such as hearing or visual loss.
- While you are educating your pet, reward him with dog biscuits or treats so that he knows that he is doing well. If you prefer not to give him food, with pampering, clapping or hugs, let him know that this is the behavior he should follow.
