This is just a small sample of all the love that these great animals can give and that will surely make you love and adore them for a lifetime.

Hachiko, considered the most faithful dog of all

Virtually everyone knows the story, but if not, let me tell you a little about a movie called Hachiko, starring renowned actor Richard Gere and a dog from the Akita Inu breed.

Is a true classic that has brought tears to even the strongest, all because of the enormous loyalty shown by a dog to its master. This movie is based on a true story, it happened in Japan in 1920.

Hachi as he was also known, is a dog that was adopted by Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor of agriculture who taught at the renowned University of Tokyo. Over the course of two years, the animal accompanied the teacher every day from the time they left home in the morning to the Shibuya train station, then he waited for him at the same time as always outside the station, to return the two to home.

However, one day Professor Ueno passed away while at the university as a result of a brain hemorrhage, for this reason, when the animal went to pick him up as he did all the time, he could not find it. Neither the teacher nor Hachi came home that day.. The dog remained outside the train station, in the same place waiting for the return of the teacher for 9 years in a row until the end of his life.

During this time, all the people who moved daily around the outskirts of the station, The animal that was always in the same place caught their attention, so it was these same people who cared for and fed Hachi until the day of his departure. In 1934, exactly 1 year before his death, they raised a statue made of bronze in honor of Hachiko, even the dog was present that day they inaugurated it.

Hachiko not only became the most faithful animal until the end of his daysThanks to this, he managed to save his almost extinct breed, because at that time there were only about 30 purebred dogs in the Japanese country. Hachi managed to help his breed not disappear and that apart, it became one of the most emblematic canine breeds in all of Japan.

Schoep and John, a pure and unconditional love

In these stories dogs are not the only ones who show such great loyalty, their masters do it too, even going so far as to do everything for the welfare of their best friend. This is the story of John Unger, a man who had just separated from his partner and was also going through one of the worst stages of his entire life.

The situation was so tough that one day he made the decision to end his life in the well-known Lake Superior, which is located in Michigan. When John rushed into the lake, an abandoned dog who was about 8 months old at the time, he jumped into the water when he saw that the man was drowning to save his life, this even having fear of water.

It was then that, from then on, the dog named Schoep became John's inseparable friend and they ended up living together for a long time. As a result of his advanced age, Schoep ended up suffering from quite severe arthritis, with which he was unable to sleep and was also blind.

Unger returns daily in the company of his Schoep, to the place where they first met, both entered the water and the man took his faithful friend in his arms to cover it with the water of the lake that was warm, in this way he managed to allow the dog to relax and only then could he get sleep, this while floating in the water.

Schoep died at the age of 20, after having lived a good life with his owner and above all knowing that John loved him so much that it showed him every day. Hannah, a friend of John, was able to photograph one of these moments, making many people know the story of a man who took his pet to the lake every day To try to appease his pain, the image was known by many people.

Without any doubt, dogs deserve recognition as man's best friend. Their love and also affection is more than enough to celebrate February 14 in the company of these furry animals. The stories we live with our dogs on a daily basis may not be the most heroic, however, just by coming home after a hard and exhausting day at work, it is something that makes us very happy.

For this reason, snuggle up with your faithful friend in bed or on the couch on Valentine's DayGive him a new toy, take him for a walk, give him the best day of his life, he really deserves it.
