What to feed my dog

Puppy eating feed

One of the things that all dog keepers have to do is feed them. If we did not, we would not only be committing a crime but it would be impossible for them to survive for long. Therefore, when we decide to adopt one of them we have to bear in mind that each month we will have to spend a certain amount of money on their food.

Therefore, in Mundo Perros we are going to explain what to feed my dog so that you have good health and a better state of mind.

I think dry or I think wet, which is better?

In pet stores we will find dry feed and wet feed (cans). Both can be an excellent food for the dog as long as it is made with natural ingredients and does not contain grains or by-products. The dog is a carnivorous animal and, therefore, it does not make any sense that we give it a feed that contains corn or wheat for example.

The main difference between a high quality dry feed and wet feed is humidity: while the former can have up to 40% humidity, the latter can have up to 70%. But otherwise, both are very easy to serve.

Which is better? The wet one is certainly the most recommended, especially during the summer or for the dog that is sick, but if both are of good quality, the benefits will be the same: shiny coat, strong white teeth, good mood, good breath.

Homemade food or similar

Although we give him the best I think, there is nothing like natural and / or homemade foodWhether it is a Yum, Summum or Barf diet, this type of diet is the most suitable for the dog, since it is the one that respects its body and the one that covers all its nutritional needs. In addition, there is no problem with giving him bones as long as they are raw: with them he will clean his teeth naturally.

Anyway, If we want to give him Barf, it is highly recommended to be advised by a canine nutritionist, since the lack of vitamins could put your health at risk. Also, do not give them chocolate or sweets as they could develop allergies and other problems.

Dog eating feed

Always feed him at the same time and as many times as necessary (if he is an adult 1 or 2, but if he is a puppy 3 or 4 a day). Avoid giving him food between meals and make him exercise to keep him in shape. With these tips, you will stay in good shape 🙂.
