When to play with a puppy?

Puppy with a ball

From the first day we live with a beautiful furry we have to reserve time to play with him. Although some times we may see him entertained with a ball or a stuffed animal, the most normal thing is that he ends up leaving it after a few minutes. And it is that this so young animal does not play alone: from four weeks it begins to interact with its mother and siblings.

Once he comes to live with us, his family will be his new playmates. But, When to play with a puppy?

How much does a puppy sleep?

To be able to answer that question we have to first find out how much he sleeps, since logically it will be during the moments when he stays awake that we can play with him. As well, this little furry sleeps 12 to 14 hours a day on average, but not followed; that is to say, he will sleep about eight hours at night, and during the day he will take naps.

As each dog is a world, the best we can do is observe what time it goes to sleep and how long it sleeps, and also write it down on a piece of paper.

When to play with the puppy?

The puppy loves to sleep, but enjoys playing even more. That is why it is very important that you always have a toy at your fingertips, since it will be with that that we will begin to play with it. But, How long do these entertainment sessions have to last? The truth is that it depends a lot on each dog.

There are some who get tired after 15 or 20 minutes, but there are others who want to play more. Again, we will have to observe our friend and stop the game when we see that he seems tired, that is, that he begins to yawn or even ignore the toy. In any case, it is highly advisable that we dedicate at least three play sessions each day after the dog reaches two months of age.
