You already have the puppy at home, and you want to take it everywhere, but… is it better to wait a bit? How much? Y, How many times a day can you or do you have to go out? The truth is that it depends a lot on where you live, and where you want to go with the furry.
Since it is not an easy-to-answer question, we are going to tell you when to start walking the dog so you can take it out with ease.
The dogs go through a period of socialization that goes from more or less a month and a half or two months, to three or three and a half months. During those weeks, it is essential to get them used to new environments, new people, other dogs (also cats), etc. But we run into a problem: the vet tells us that it is better not to remove them until they have the third vaccination, which is administered at 12 weeks.
Obviously, the professional worries about the health of the animals, but it is not a good idea to keep our puppies indoors for up to three months if we want them to be sociable. So that, to do?
Well, there are actually several things we can do, which are: carry them for walks, take them out for car rides, or even go for a short walk near home. When we take him to the vet, we must always carry him in our arms until he has all the vaccines, since this is a place that, although it is clean, the floor is normally cleaned only once a day, so it can be dangerous for our furry ones.
How many times to take them out? The more times the better, but always short walks. If they are two or three months old, we will quickly see that they get tired, so they should not be very long: 10 minutes is more than enough being so young. As it grows, we will gradually increase that time.
